Challenge

For our client, Les Midis Santé, which works in the daycare sector, our challenge was huge: we were asked to recommend a container that offered a shelf life similar to that of a can—all while preserving the content’s flavour. The product? A pasta sauce that our client did not want to sterilize but pasteurize instead to maintain its exceptional taste.

Solution

We have opted for a standard size with Elips, a 21-oz jar (BQ002 round jar) with the bottom and sides fully covered with IML (In Mold Labelling, in which the label is integrated into the plastic walls during injection). The label acts as a barrier to light and oxygen providing longer product life. This solution enables our customer to have a simpler preservation process to maintain their products’ sensory qualities and thus offer their customers a very flavourful sauce with a long shelf life! It’s a container that does it all:

  • It helps preserve the taste of food.
  • It offers a long shelf life and therefore helps reduce food waste.
  • It’s 100% recyclable since it is made only of polypropylene (both the container and label).
  • It’s light and easily transportable to reduce the ecological footprint related to packaging.
